Stella Cygnus (she/her) is a magical girl from the stars, tasked with protecting dreams from Nightmares. She fights alongside the other members of the Summer Triangle Trio, Lyra and Aquila. Cygnus's civilian name is Anais.
La La LUNE is an original story about children of the stars that protect the Earth from Nightmares, which are rogue cosmic dust touched by the Great Rift.
Design
The constellation myth of Cygnus centers around a swan. Because of this, Stella Cygnus's design is themed around one, specifically evoking the Swan Lake ballet and its protagonist, Odette. Her general design is kept from previous iterations, but adapted to this new theme.
Cygnus's longer side hair is influenced by the headdress typically worn by Odette's dancer in Swan Lake, curling backwards like the curve of its feathers. The top hem of the dress also tie back to the feathers of a swan. The overall shape of the dress is meant to have a princess-like feel, as Odette is also referred to as the Swan Princess, but also a ballerina as the story is originally known in its classical ballet form. She wears ballet flats to tie back to this as well.
Cygnus's gold accessories resemble a shooting star. This was originally for all Stella characters, but remained unique to her design alone as the pseudo-protagonist.
Cygnus's staff's power, like all Stella weapons, comes from the crystal, though in Cygnus's case the actual weapon is mostly said crystal. The staff is simply meant to hold it while the crystal will produce concentrated beams of energy like a laser canon. The crystal is composed of the same cosmic dust properties that the Stellas are born from, with each weapon's crystal properties being from that Stella's constellation. The staff utilizes the shapes of a crescent moon and swan heads. The swans also form a heart.
